Link: www.cnn.com/2011/10/17/justice/missouri-missing-girl/index.htmlSo, I don't know how closely any of you have been following this story, but a little girl about Trex's age has been missing for a couple of weeks, supposedly taken in the night. Now it comes out that the mother "Had enough drinks to be drunk" but doesn't believe she had anything to do with the girl's disappearance. Also, despite the fact that her sons claim they heard things, the family won't allow police to interview them. To me, it all sounds tragically fishy now. However, I hate to think that the mother is involved but I feel like she's going to be the main focus now (and possibly rightfully so). But are they doing harm to the search for the little girl by releasing this info by way of the public instantly condemning the mother, or is it time to take a closer look at her? God what a frightening idea. If I have one beer I get paranoid about dealing with T. Getting drunk? Right out of the fucking question at 9-10 months, most babies are still waking up 2 to 3 times a night to nurse at that age. It is blatantly irresponsible of her, but that doesn't mean she did it. Gah! I'm so conflicted...

It's a tough one, though it sounds like they probably should be looking into her. Should it have been made public? That's hard to say. In general I tend to say no, mostly from a standpoint of fair trials and the like. That said there is something to be said for getting the word out in case someone has some info and wouldn't have brought it up for whatever reason. I still like to err on the side of caution though.
